Singhal asks L K Advani to follow RSS directive
Tuesday, July 19 2005 18:53 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: In an indirect message to BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) President L K Advani to step down, his critic and VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) Supremo Ashok Singhal today (July 19, 2005) said everyone in the Sangh Parivar must abide by the directions of the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh).

Declining to comment directly on the controversy surrounding RSS directive to Advani to step down, Singhal, without naming Advani, told reporters in New Delhi, "The matters within the Parivar are being handled by the RSS. RSS General Secretary Mohan Bhagwat is our supreme authority and whatever the RSS says has to be abided by everyone (in the Parivar)."

Spotlight: The Ayodhya crisis

The VHP Chief, who had gone to meet President A P J Abdul Kalam on the Ayodhya issue, was responding to a question on the problems within the Parivar.
