Chandigarh: The Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory (CFSL) in Chandigarh will match the voices in the tape of film actor Salman Khan allegedly trying to pressurise actress Aishwarya Rai to do a stage show and boasting of his links with the underworld dons with their recorded samples, sources said today (July 21, 2005).

Though the CFSL declined to say anything in connection with the tape referred to it by the Mumbai Police, sources said that the laboratory has received the taped message purportedly recorded four years ago and the recent voice recordings of the two film stars.

CFSL Director R S Verma refused to take telephone calls since yesterday when he was approached for comments.

Sources said the laboratory would try to match the voice in the tape and the recorded voice on different parameters, including accent, pitch of the voice and speaking pattern. The report is expected to be finalised in around two week's time, the sources said.

The audio tape purportedly recorded four years ago has Salman Khan flaunting his links with Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel and trying to pressurise Rai to do a stage show.

The CFSL here had earlier this year in February come into focus when it received the CD from Jammu Police in the Anara Gupta case after a Hyderabad laboratory had opined that the girl in the CD was not Anara Gupta.
