Crime Branch official dismissed for underworld link

Mumbai: Maharashtra Government yesterday (July 22, 2005) dismissed senior Mumbai Crime Branch official from service for his alleged proximity with members of the underworld.

Senior Inspector Aslam Momin was dismissed at the end of an enquiry conducted by the Home Department against him, police sources said.

DCP Dhananjay Kamlakar of Crime Branch confirmed Momin's dismissal but refused to elaborate on the reasons behind the action.
