AIADMK delegation to call on PM on Cauvery issue Sunday, July 24 2005 16:07 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

An AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) delegation will call on the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, in New Delhi on July 26 (Tuesday), to impress upon him the need to get Cauvery waters from Karnataka as per the interim award of the Cauvery Tribunal.
'Immediately afterwards, the team will call on the Karnataka Chief Minister, Dharam Singh in Bangalore', to plead for release of Cauvery waters to the state, the AIADMK
General Secretary and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, said in a statement here (Chennai) today (July 24, 2005).
The team will consist of Rajya Sabha members of the party, state ministers, office bearers of the party headquarters and legislators from the Cauvery delta region.
On Friday (July 22, 2005) last, the party had held state-wide demonstrations in front of the Central Government offices on the same issue.
