Man held under anti-terror laws at Luton airport

London: British police today (July 27, 2005) detained a man under anti-terrorism laws as he prepared to travel on a flight from Luton airport north of London to the southern French city of Nimes.

Spotlight: London bomb blasts

Bedfordshire Police said in a statement they detained "a man at London Luton Airport under the Terrorism Act who was due to fly to Nimes with Ryanair.

"The flight was initially delayed while police carried out checks. These are now complete and the aircraft is now free to take off," the statement said.
