Basis for peace process is to end terrorism: India
Thursday, July 28 2005 20:58 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: India today (July 28, 2005) made it clear that one of the basis for the peace process with Pakistan was its commitment to end all support to terrorism.

"One of the basis for the peace process is the commitment to end all support to terrorism as per the January 6, 2004, press statement issued in Islamabad," External Affairs Ministry spokesman told reporters in New Delhi in response to a question.

New Delhi has regretted that Pakistan has not done much to dismantle the infrastructure of terrorists in that country.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has also stated that terror attacks sponsored from across the border could hamper the peace process.
