Train blast: UP CM announces ex-gratia for victims

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today (July 28, 2005) announced an ex-gratia of Rs one lakh to the kin of those killed in the blast in Delhi-bound Shramjeevi Express near Jaunpur and Rs 50,000 to those who suffered serious injuries.

Those with minor injuries will be provided Rs 25,000 each, an official release quoting the Chief Minister said in Lucknow, adding that necessary grants were being made available to the District Magistrate of Jaunpur immediately.

Yadav expressed shock at the blast and offered deep sympathies to the victims.

"It is unfortunate that innocent people have become victim to this blast in the train," he was quoted as saying in the release.
