Demands for Advani & Laloo's resignation in LS
Friday, July 29 2005 17:09 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Demands for resignation of Leader of Opposition L K Advani for being chargesheeted in the Babri demolition case and Railway Minister Laloo Prasad following the bomb blast in Shramjeevi Express yesterday (July 29, 2005) resulted in turmoil in the Lok Sabha today.

RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) member Ram Kripal Yadav shouted slogans seeking Advani's resignation when his party colleague Devendra Prasad Yadav and CPM (Communist Party of India Marxist) members Mohammed Salim and Basudeb Acharia sought to raise the issue.

This followed a BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) member Yogi Aditya Nath demanding the resignation of Prasad following the blast in Shramjeevi Express in which several persons were killed and injured.

The issues were raised as Speaker Somnath Chatterjee had called CPI (Communist Party of India) leader Gurudas Dasgupta to raise his calling attention on BHEL disinvestment issue.

As his attempts to restore order in the House went in vain the Speaker adjourned the House ten minutes ahead of the lunch recess.
