Death toll in fire at Bombay High reaches eleven

New Delhi: The death toll in Wednesday's (July 27, 2005) devastating fire at the oil facility off the Mumbai coast has risen to 11 with 12 people still missing.

"The six divers, trapped in decompression chambers of the ill-fated oil platform, will be rescued by noon. Till now, we have rescued 355 and 12 are still missing," a senior Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) official said from Mumbai.

There were 384 people on the Mumbai High North Platform when it caught fire on Wednesday (July 27, 2005) afternoon.
