New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today (July 31, 2005) lauded the courage shown by media-persons while covering the gunbattle between militants and security forces in Srinagar yesterday (July 30, 2005).

"I would like to pay tribute to our media-men and women for their courage, for their objectivity and what we saw yesterday in Srinagar," he said.

Two security-men were killed and 20 persons including seven media personnel civilians were injured in the encounter between militants and security forces.
