Close circuit TVs to monitor Ayodhya complex Tuesday, August 2 2005 19:48 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Ayodhya:
Close circuit TVs will be installed to monitor the sensitive acquired land complex in Ayodhya, although other security plans are being kept under a tight lid to avoid "an adverse impact".
At least 30 new close circuit TVs would be installed in the acquired land area and 10 at the complex entrance to keep a check on those entering the area, K N Jha who is in-charge of VVIP security in the Prime Minister's Office told reporters yesterday (Aug 1, 2005).
The new security arrangements for the complex, in the wake of the July 5 terrorist attack, would be presented before the Union Home Ministry on August 6, he said.
However, "The security arrangements will not be disclosed as it could have an adverse impact," he added.
Jha, who was accompanied by senior officials of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), said there was no immediate proposal to deploy the force in the area.
"The aim of this visit is to take stock of the situation and explore ways and means for tightening the security," he said.
He added that for the first time, a need had been felt to provide the security personnel in the area with sophisticated weapons and communication equipment.
