Wednesday, August 3 2005 17:18 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Ranchi: A lady teacher at whose flat the sex-on-tape scandal, involving suspended IPS officer P S Natarajan was shot has been arrested after a FIR was filed against her.

The police arrested Madhu Priya Ganguly, a teacher, living at the Kalinga Apartment at Kanke here where the woman, who featured in telecasts three days ago with Natarajan in a compromising position, said the episode had been shot.

"We have arrested Madhu Priya Ganguly, and after her interrogation we will launch raids," Senior Superintendent of Police Anil Palta told sources in Ranchi when asked about the whereabouts of the 1975 batch IPS officer against whom a FIR has also been filed.

The police seized cassettes, a CD player and some books during a search of the teacher's flat before arresting her, he said.

The police said the tapes would be sent to Kolkata for forensic test.

The police also filed a FIR last evening at the Lower Bazar police station against Rajesh Kujur whom the woman had said was her husband.

Palamu police super U K Singh said a police team that had been to Ranchi to get a copy of the victim's statement, registered in Delhi against another IPS officer Pervez Hayat, were on their way back.

"A FIR will be filed later today against Hayat as soon as the team reached with the statement," Singh added.

Hayat, the woman had alleged, during his stint at Palamu had sexually exploited her when she approached him for action when her husband, said to be a naxalite, forcibly took away her son.

Natarajan was entrusted to probe the woman's charge of sexual misconduct against Hayat now on central deputation.
