India has offered help in drafting Iraq's Constitution, Minister of State for External Affairs E Ahamed told the Rajya Sabha today (August 4, 2005).
In a written reply to a question, he said India has offered to help by arranging interactions with Indian constitutional experts here and provision of literature and expert advice, which has been appreciated by the Iraq government.
A proposal entitled 'E-Governance solution for emigrations received from a Central government enterprise is under consideration of the government, Minister of State for
Overseas Indian Affairs (Independent Charge) Jagdish Tytler said.
The proposal envisages establishing a complete IT infrastructure at the Office of Protector-General of Emigrants (POE) and eight field offices of the Protector of Emigrants, he said.
It also involves providing tamper-proof 'smart card' based ID photo cards to emigrants, which will have adequate data storage capacity to carry emigrants' personal information, visa particulars, recruiting agent's details, POE office approval reference, insurance details, etc.
