Nanavati Commission report tabled in Lok Sabha

New Delhi: The report of the G T Nanavati Commission, which probed the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, was tabled in the Lok Sabha today (August 8, 2005) by Home Minister Shivraj Patil.

The report was tabled along with the Action Taken Report (ATR) on the last day of the expiry of the six-month deadline for its presentation in Parliament.

The report was submitted to Patil on February nine this year.

The BJP and some other opposition parties have been demanding tabling of the report in Parliament since the Budget session.

Minister of State for Home S Reghupathy also tabled a copy of the report along with the ATR in the Rajya Sabha.
