NDA to seek Prez's intervention to book rioters
Monday, August 8 2005 16:25 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Dissatisfied with the Nanavati Commission's Report and the Action taken by the Government, BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) today (Aug 8, 2005) said that NDA (National Democratic Alliance) would be seeking intervention of President A P J Abdul Kalam to prosecute all those involved in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

"NDA would be constituting a Committee, which would study in detail the Commission's Report. After studying the report NDA will approach President Kalam to seek action against those involved in it (the riots)", BJP leader V K Malhotra told reporters.

He said though although a Parliamentary debate would take place on the Report, NDA would raise this matter in both the houses this afternoon.
