Nanavati: Vajpayee demands resignation of Ministers

New Delhi: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today (August 9, 2005) said people named in the Nanavati Commission report on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots should resign from the council of Ministers and asserted that as Prime Minister Manmohan Singh too was responsible for the Action Taken Report.

"Those who have been named by the Nanavati Commission, those who have been accused by it should resign from the council of Ministers," he told reporters here.

Asked about the NDA's decision to demand Manmohan Singh's resignation on the issue, he said, "as the Prime Minister, he is also responsible."
