Almatty: M'rashtra to approach Central Tribunal

Mumbai: The Maharashtra Government has decided to approach the Central Water Tribunal to protest the non-release of water from Almatty dam.

The Government would also lodge its protest with the Tribunal against Karnataka Government's failure to abide by the norms regarding water storage in Almatty dam, Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, told reporters in Mumbai today (Aug 10, 2005).

A formal complaint would be lodged with the Tribunal in the next two to three days, Deshmukh said.
