Bomb blast on railway track in Nalbari by ULFA Wednesday, August 10 2005 15:01 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

In their continuing spree of violence in the run up to Independence Day, United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) militants today (Aug 10, 2005) exploded a bomb on railway tracks in Nalbari district of Assam.
North East Frontier Railway sources told sources that the ULFA had placed a bomb on railway tracks between Tihu and Kaithlakuchi stations in Nalbari, which exploded at 2 a.m.
The railway track was damaged but there was no report of any casualty as no trains were scheduled to pass through the area during that time.
Trains along the line were controlled at several places and repair of the track began immediately with rail traffic restored later in the morning, the sources added.
Meanwhile, security along the railway tracks in the state have been further tightened with patrolling by security forces intensified, sources added.
