Fresh case against Bibi Jagir Kaur filed in SGJC Wednesday, August 10 2005 10:59 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

A fresh case against the Shriomani Gurdwara Pharbandhak Committee (SGPC) Chief Bibi Jagir Kaur was filed in the Sikh Gurdwara Judicial Commission (SGJC) here yesterday (August 9, 2005) for alleged misappropriation of religious funds to the tune of Rs 70 crore.
Confirming this, Chairman, SGJC, Kashmir Singh Patti said that Jagir Kaur has been asked to appear before the Commission on August 24, 2005 regarding the allegations described in the petition filed by a Sikh devotee Harpreet Singh through his counsel M S Randhawa.
The petitioner has urged the SGJC for the disqualification of Jagir Kaur for the period of five years, besides slapping ban on her to hold any position in any of the institution under the SGPC for the period of five years and fine of Rs 10 lakhs.
According to the petition SGJC has also been urged to direct the serving SGPC Chief Jagir Kaur to return the amount of Rs 70 crore along with the interest of 18 per cent in the accounts of the SGPC besides relinquishing her present religious plum post forthwith being a SGPC Chief.
It is alleged in the petition that Bibi Jagir Kaur, in the capacity, of SGPC Chief is allegedly responsible for ordering the use religious funds for her vested interests besides allocating huge some of amount to the fake Gurdwara Societies.
She was recently indicted by the SGJC for securing admission to children of influential politicians in the medical colleges run by SGPC.
