Ayodhya attack: Suspected militant arrested today

Jammu: Security forces have arrested a top Jaish-e-Mohammad ultra, wanted in connection with the terrorist attack in Ayodhya, from Poonch district, official sources said today (Aug 12, 2005).

During a raid conducted in a hideout in Nakka Manjari belt of Mendhar tehsil of the district, troops arrested Jaish-e-Mohammad Ultra Rafeeq alias Lassa yesterday (Aug 11, 2005), they said.

Spotlight: The Ayodhya crisis

Some explosives and rounds of ammunition have been recovered from him, they said adding he is wanted in connection with the Ayodhya attack case.

He was handed over to police and has been shifted to the Joint Interrogation Center for questioning, they said.
