Threat call to Subash, a former RJD minister's kin Saturday, August 13 2005 12:19 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Hajipur (Bihar):
The threat call to Subhash Yadav, RJD (Rashtriya Janata Dal) Rajya Sabha member and brother of former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi, in New Delhi yesterday (Aug 12, 2005) was made from a mobile phone of the driver of a former state minister, the police said today (Aug 13, 2005).
The Vaishali district superintendent of police, Kamal Kishore, told PTI that the phone from which the alleged threat call was made was issued to Upendra Rai, the driver of former RJD minister, Uday Narain Rai.
He said that Manjit Rai, grandson of the minister, had been interrogated by the police in connection with the incident. He however, refused to divulge the details.
''The cell phone has been seized and the sim card would soon be handed over to the Delhi police,'' Kishore said adding further investigation was on.
The caller had identified himself as Subodh Kumar.
Yadav had lodged a complaint with the Tilak Nagar police station in the capital and on his arrival here last evening apprised the DGP, home secretary and senior superintendent of police of the call.
A former minister in the Rabri Devi Government, Shyam Raja, had also received calls threatening to eliminate him a few days ago.
