JK: Grenade hurled at patrol party; no casualties

Srinagar: A day after the I-Day blast, unidentified militants today (Aug 16, 2005) hurled a grenade on a patrol party of security forces in high security zone near the Exchange road in Lal Chowk area, official sources said.

The grenade missed the intended target and fell inside Pratap Park, exploding without causing any harm to life or property, the sources said.

Police and paramilitary personnel cordoned off the area and senior officials rushed to the spot, they said.

No militant organisation has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.
