The first BioBeer, 'Lady Bird Bio Beer', has been launched in the Kerala market here today (August 17, 2005), said a doctor, who developed it after ten years of research.
Dr B Srinivasa Amarnath, Chief Executive Officer, Advaith Biotech (P) Limited, the inventor of Lady Bird Bio Beer and Dr C B Jagannatha Rao, Senior Vice President, Khoday group of Indusries, said Bio-beer was made up of barley malt, Carbon dioxide hops extracts and extract of aloe-vera.
Rao said results of human clinical trails have shown that Aloe Vera increases the bioavailability of Vitamins B1, B6, B12, C and E.
"The response to BioBeer, following its launch in Karnataka in February last, has been good and we have already sold more than six lakh bottles in Karnataka in a span of four months," Amarnath said.
It was also exporting Bio Beer to Canada, and enquiries have come from Malaysia and United States (US), he said, adding, a delegation from United Kingdom (UK) had visited and had shown interest in the beer.
Years of research have also proved that with the long-term use of the beverage, there was no ulceration, gastric trouble or other harmful effects from drinking it, he said.
Apart from giving the pleasant feeling, this also protects the liver by improving its function, he said, claiming it reduces the blood cholesterol and also maintains the bilirubin levels to normal levels.
