Gujarat Chief Minister Modi visits Patel's house Wednesday, August 17 2005 12:30 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Gandhinagar:
A day after dissident BJP MLAs and other party workers made a beeline to "inquire" about the health of Leelaben, wife of senior party leader Keshubhai Patel, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today (August 17, 2005) visited the Patel household here.
Modi was in Patel's house for nearly half-an-hour to "inquire" about the health of Leelaben, who came back recently from the US after undergoing an operation, but left before the mediapersons reached there, party sources said.
Modi's visit assumes significance as Patel, a known Modi critic, is in New Delhi with other MPs and rebel MLAs.
At least 39 MLAs, six MPs and hundreds of party workers had teamed up at Patel's house yesterday to inquire about his wife's health and also used the occassion to raise the issue to Modi's ouster.
