Best Bakery: SC refuses to give more time to Zahira

New Delhi: Shortly before the high-powered committee was to submit its inquiry report on the flip-flops of Zahira Sheikh in the Best Bakery case, the counsel for the key witness today (August 17, 2005) another seven days from the Supreme Court for submission of her written statements to the committee.

Spotlight: Godhra-Chilling stories of the victims

The apex court declined to give any more time but allowed the committee to file its report by August 24 and fixed August 29 for consideration of the report.

The court recorded the statements of Zahira's counsel that she would be filing objection to the report after its is put up for hearing.
