Central team to study flood situation in Karnataka Thursday, August 18 2005 22:10 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

The ten-member Central team deputed to study the flood situation in Karnataka will proceed to Bagalkot having reviewed the flood damages in most of the taluks in Belgaum district, the worst affected by nature's fury.
The team has been divided into two groups with one covering Belgaum and Bagalkot districts and the other Bijapur, Gulbarga and Raichur districts, R Bhattacharya, Joint
Secretary, Union Home Ministry, who is heading the team told reporters.
To a question on the parameters of the study, he said, "We will see some of the villages and study the report submitted by the Karnataka Government."
He said the team would submit its report soon after it reaches Delhi.
The magnitude of the relief will be considered under Natural Calamity Compensation Fund (NCCF) and Central Relief Fund (CRF).
Shalini Raanish, Deputy Commssioner was also present.
