Campaign against corrupt; CBI to seek public help Thursday, August 18 2005 10:11 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
In a bid to end corruption in Government offices, CBI will launch a campaign seeking the help of general public in identifying corrupt officials.
CBI sources yesterday (August 17, 2005) night said a campaign would be launched where the general public would be asked to lodge their complaint with the local CBI offices through e-mail, telephone or letters and the complainant could remain anonymous.
The CBI would weigh the complaint and if any tangible evidence was found, it would begin the process of legal action against the officer, the sources said.
This move would further help the agency in curbing corruption in Government offices.
Three years back, during the tenure of P C Sharma as Director of the CBI, the agency had begun a system of nationwide raids against corrupt Government officials.
