Jhajjar's CJM suspended for dealing Pataudi's case Friday, August 19 2005 16:52 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Jhajjar:
Jhajjar's Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Sudhir Jiwan, who had handled the bail application of former cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi in a poaching case recently, has been suspended with immediate effect and 'disciplinary proceedings' would be initiated against him.
Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice D K Jain had yesterday (Aug 18, 2005) passed the order for withdrawal of work from the CJM, official sources said in Jhajjar today (Aug 19, 2005).
The decision was taken by the full High Court, the sources said.
However, the sources did not divulge the reason behind the action against the CJM but said disciplinary proceedings will be initiated against him.
The suspended CJM refraining from commenting upon the action told sources that he had received a one-page letter from the High court suspending him with immediate effect.
