Charges against Kanchi seer to be framed on Sept 5

Chengalpattu: A local court today fixed September 5 as the date for framing charges in the Sankararaman murder case, in which Kanchi Seer Jayendra Saraswathi and his junior Vijayendra Saraswathi are the main accused.

The Principal Sessions Judge, Chengalpattu, G M Akbar Ali, dismissing discharge petitions of nine of the accused, said all the 24 accused would have to be present that day in court.

The judge also dismissed the bail petitions of Dil Pandian, Arumugam and Satish, accused of staging a fake surrender to shield the real criminals. The case relates to the September 3 last murder of Sankararaman, a temple official.
