Khurana suspended from BJP, for gross indiscipline Saturday, August 20 2005 17:24 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
New Delhi:
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Madan Lal Khurana was today (Aug 20, 2005) suspended from the party for indulging in 'gross indiscipline.'
69-year-old Khurana, who has been critical of party President L K Advani and had demanded Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's removal, has been suspended for 'gross indiscipline' party spokesperson Sushma Swaraj said.
A show cause notice has been issued to former Delhi strongman and party's Zonal Incharge for Delhi, Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, to which he has to respond within 15 days, she said.
"Further action will be taken on the basis of his reply", she said.
Swaraj said he has been relieved from all party responsibilities with immediate effect.
"This has been done because he is taking internal matters of the party to public platform and to the press, which amounts to gross indiscipline", she said.
