Close shave for Union Minister Ramvilas Paswan
Sunday, August 21 2005 11:51 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Hajipur (Bihar): Union Minister Ramvilas Paswan yesterday (August 20, 2005) had a narrow escape when the towel of an onlooker got entangled with the rotors of the Bihar Government helicopter, seconds after lift-off for Patna from a field near Patepur in his Hajipur constituency.

Accompanied by his MP brother Ramchandra Paswan, the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) President had boarded the chopper after attending a function there last evening (August 20, 2005), State Party Spokesman, Sanjay Singh, told PTI.

The towel of an onlooker suddenly got entwined with the moving rotors which was soon noticed by the pilot who immediately switched off the engine and asked Paswan and his brother to disembark, Singh said.

Vaishali district officials too confirmed it.

Paswan later proceeded to Patna by road, Singh said.
