Bandaranaike, 56, would continue to hold the Tourism portfolio, a spokesman of the President said.

The Investment Promotion and Industries portfolios he was holding before were given to Finance Minister Sarath Amunugama, the official said.

Bandaranaike is tightly guarded as he is considered a target of Tamil tiger rebels.

Kadirgamar was killed in a suspected rebel attack on August 12.
