Review petition filed against Geelani: Delhi Police

New Delhi: Delhi Police has decided to file a review petition in the Supreme Court against the acquittal of S A R Geelani in Parliament attack case.

The police has sent a proposal in this regard to Delhi Administration for its go-ahead, police sources told sources today (Aug 23, 2005).

Spotlight: Parliament Under Attack

The clearance from the government is awaited, they said.

The sources said according to the legal advice taken by the Delhi Police there was a strong case against Geelani and a review petition should be filed in the apex Court.

The Supreme Court recently acquitted Geelani in the 2001 case while confirming the death sentence to another accused Mohd Afzal.
