New Delhi: In the face of mounting criticism, the Mulayam Singh Yadav Government in Uttar Pradesh yesterday (Aug 22, 2005) set up a three-member committee to probe alleged irregularities in allotment of residential plots by the Lucknow Development Authority.

Headed by the Chief Secretary, the committee had been asked to submit its report within three days, the Chief Minister told reporters in New Delhi.

"I have constituted an inquiry team, headed by the Chief Secretary" to inquire into allotment of plots, Singh said.

He said action would be taken against those found guilty.
