India planning to set up 2 int'l size shipyards

New Delhi: India is considering setting up of two 'international size' shipyards, Minister for Shipping, Road Transport and Highways T R Baalu said today (Aug 25, 2005).

"The Government is exploring the possibility of setting up two international size shipyards in the country subject to favourable technical analysis and feasibility study. The sites are yet to be identified," he said in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha in New Delhi.
