Jaya's disproportionate case adjourned to Oct 10

Bangalore: The Special Court today (Aug 26, 2005) adjourned the hearing in the disproporationate asset case filed against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and four others to October 10 in the backdrop of Suprme Court stay to its proceedings.

The Supreme Court has posted the petition challenging the special court order of clubbing of London Hotel case with the Rs 66.65 crore asset cases for a joint trial to October three.

The Apex Court on August five had stayed further proceedings of the Special Court, which has been trying the case. The Special Court Judge A S Pachhapure after allowing applications seeking exemption from personal appearance by Jayalalithaa, Sashikala Natarajan, V N Sudhakaran, J Ilavarasi and T T V Dinkaran, adjourned the hearing to October 10.
