Gowda denies problems with coalition partner
Saturday, August 27 2005 20:03 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Bangalore: Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal Secular (JDS) President H D Devegowda today (Aug 27, 2005) said he saw nothing wrong in his party's ruling coalition partner, Congress, aspiring to come to power on its own strength in the next polls.

Speaking to reporters here, he said the Congress was certainly free to strengthen the organization and activate the party workers.

"There is nothing wrong if they want to come to power on their own", he said.

Gowda said JDS was also working towards strengthening itself but its efforts should not be construed as preparations for the elections.

"I have said 100 times that we do not want to destabilize the coalition Government".
