The demand for Finance Minister P Chidambaram's resignation by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) leaders on the Nalini Chidambaram issue continue to rock both the Houses.
In Rajya Sabha the Nalini Chidambaram issue was taken up for the second consecutive day today (August 30, 2005), forcing adjournment of the House for an hour.
Raising the issue All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) member, N Jothi, expressed dissatisfaction with Finance Minister P Chidambaram's personal explanation to the House yesterday (August 29, 2005) saying, "He has not covered any issue we have raised."
Jothi demanded Chidambaram's presence in the House today (August 30, 2005) to clarify on the issue of his lawyer wife Nalini appearing in a case on behalf of the Income Tax department.
The AIADMK members soon left their seats and came to the aisle. They were spontaneously supported by BJP members and they together trooped into the Well shouting slogans against the Finance Minister.
With Congress countering, noisy scenes broke out forcing Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat to adjourn the House for an hour.
"Yesterday the House has discussed the matter," the Chairman said asking the members to decide how to go about it before adjourning the House.
Rajya Sabha had witnessed three adjournments on the issue yesterday.

In the Lok Sabha, Opposition led by BJP, demanded resignation of Finance Minister P Chidambaram over the issue of his lawyer wife Nalini taking up an Income Tax Department case which rocked the House.
After vociferous protests on the issue, Opposition members staged a walkout expressing dissatisfaction over the Finance Minister's statement that he had 'no knowledge' of the matter till it was raised in Rajya Sabha.
