New Delhi:
A Mumbai-based petty criminal was arrested for allegedly sending a threatening e-mail to industrialist Sunjay Kapur, the estranged husband of Bollywood
actor Karishma Kapoor, demanding Rs 50 crore.
Rajkumar alias Rajubhai was arrested by the Special Cell sleuths of Delhi police from Mulund in suburban Mumbai last evening where he ran a cyber cafe, police sources said in Delhi, today (August 31, 2005).
He had allegedly sent the e-mail last week threatening to kill Kapur if he did not pay Rs 50 crore.
Rajkumar had been brought to Delhi and was interrogated by the police.
The Mumbai Police has named him in several cases of petty crimes.
However, the sources said Rajkumar had no link with Karishma, who has been embroiled in a tussle with her husband Sanjay over the custody of their five-month-old daughter Samaira.
Sunjay had alleged that Karishma got issued a passport to their minor daughter without his consent by flouting all laws and that she was planning to leave for the US along with
Samaira without taking him into confidence.
