Gold coins, artefacts found in Priyamvada's house Wednesday, August 31 2005 19:02 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Acting on a Calcutta High Court order for making an inventory of personal belongings of late Priyamvada Birla, special officers appointed for this have recovered a large number of gold coins, several gold artifacts from the premises of Birla Park, the residence of her husband M P Birla.
The special officers informed the court today (August 31, 2005) that a few hundred gold coins, some of which dated back to the Gupta era and gold artifacts like flower vases, tea sets, a miniature boat were found in a safe inside the strong room located under the staircase of the Birla Park residence yesterday (August 30, 2005).
Earlier, Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta had ordered for making a list of the personal belongings of Priyamvada Birla as the control of M P Birla group's assets, amounting to Rs 5000 crore, was being fought out in the courts between the Birla clan and R S Lodha.
Justice Sengupta today (August 31, 2005) directed that both the parties post armed guards at the place where the valuables were found.
