Cong dismisses demand for Chidambaram's resignation
Thursday, September 1 2005 13:41 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Congress yesterday (August 31, 2005) dismissed Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalithaa's demand for resignation of Finance Minister P Chidambaram in the wake of the controversy over his lawyer wife Nalini appearing in an Income Tax case.

Party Spokesperson Jayanthi Natarjan told reporters that the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) supremo was indulging in cheap politics by making the demand and reminded her that she herself was involved in several court cases, including those for corruption.
