India conveys condolences to Iraq on stampede death Thursday, September 1 2005 10:17 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

India yesterday (August 31, 2005) conveyed to Iraq its condolences over the death of a large number of people in a stampede.
External Affairs Minister Natwar Singh, in a message to his counterpart Hoshyar Zebari, expressed grave anguish over the terrible tragedy that occurred in Baghdad yesterday, External Affairs Ministry spokesman said.
He said the people of India shared the grief of the families who lost their near and dear ones.
Over 800 people died in the stampede triggered by fears of a suicide bombing in Baghdad.
