LJP terms Lalu's charges as baseless and absurd Thursday, September 1 2005 19:56 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Patna:
Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) today (Sept 1, 2005) termed as 'baseless and absurd' Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad's charge that its chief Ramvilas Paswan was 'conspiring' for the victory of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar Assembly poll and asked United Progressive Alliance (UPA) allies, particularly Congress, to snap ties with the RJD.
"Lalu's charges against Paswan is baseless and absurd", LJP national Vice-President Dr Ranjan Prasad Yadav said in apress statement. The UPA allies should sever ties with RJD
for inflicting a 'crushing' defeat on the NDA, he said.
"We have time and again made it clear that the LJP will have no alliance with the RJD", Ranjan Yadav said.
He added any form of alliance with the RJD would mean 'throwing invitation' to NDA to form the government as over eight crore people of Bihar were dead against the RJD staging a comeback because of 'its misdeeds and misgovernance in past 15 years.'
The LJP leader criticized Lalu Prasad for his earlier statement that taswan should either sail in the UPA boat or 'if he wants to sink he may decide otherwise'.
"Anybody who will sail in the leaking boat of Lalu is bound to sink," he countered.
Ranjan Yadav asked UPA partners, particularly the Congress not to have any truck with the RJD which, he alleged, strengthened the 'communal and fascist' forces in its rule'.
"The RJD Government was a total failure on all fronts. It is not my personal view but it has also been reflected in the surveys carried out by the Planning Commission, World
Bank, Rajiv Gandhi Foundation and several other accredited institutions", he said.
Bihar stood in the bottom in all fields as "Lalu has virtually got the state drowned," the RJD leader said.
