'Sonia tried to create problems for my party' Friday, September 2 2005 20:00 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Thiruvananthapuram:
Directing his ire against All India Congress Committee (AICC) chief Sonia Gandhi, Democratic Indira Congress (K) leader K Karunakaran today (Sept 2, 2005) said the Congress President had sought to create problems in the way of his outfit getting the Election Commission's registration.
"She tried her level best to deny registration to the. Despite that the Election Commission has done maximum justice," the Karunakaran, who parted ways with the Congress
few months back, told a press meet in Thiruvananthapuram.
Reiterating that his party's prime aim was to ensure humiliating defeat to the ruling United Democratic Front (UDF) in Kerala, Karunakaran said his party would have adjustment with no party or group other than the LDF in the coming local body elections and the assembly polls early next year.
"We have already reached understanding with the LDF. We did not have any understanding with anybody other than the LDF, privately or publicly," he said.
He said his party was not going to have any truck with the Indian Union Muslim League, 'whose activities had, of late, become communally-oriented'.
He said he had evidence of United Democratic Front (UDF) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) adjustments in the state and the proof for it would be disclosed later.
