P C Thomas asked to resign Parliament membership Saturday, September 3 2005 16:36 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Nationalist Youth Congress, the youth wing of the National Congress Party, today (Sept 3, 2005) said P C Thomas, MP, who had won the parliament election from Muvattupuzha parliamentary constituency, contesting as a National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate, should resign the membership before joining Kerala Congress (Joseph).
Addressing a press meet, Pradeep Parappuram, National Secretary, Nationalist Youth Congress (NYC) said Thomas, who was a minister in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led NDA Government, had helped NDA open its account in the state, as he had defeated the LDF candidate in the Muvattupuzha Parliamentary constituency, and he has to resign his seat before joining Kerala congress (Joseph), a partner in the LDF in Kerala.
The executive committee meeting of the NYC had decided to hold the national convention of NYC at Thana in Maharashtra during the second week of November.
The national convention will be inaugurated by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP)
National President Sharad Pawar, he said.
As part of the convention, zonal meetings will be held at Guwahati, Delhi and Kerala, he said.
The Indian Federal Democratic Party (IFDP) led by P C Thomas had decided to dissolve the party and merge with the Kerala Congress (Joseph) recently.
