Mohd Azharuddin life still under threat: Police
Sunday, September 4 2005 19:59 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Hyderabad: The security cover being provided to former Indian skipper Mohd Azharuddin will continue, police said.

"We believe his life is still under threat and we will continue to provide him security," city police commissioner V Dinesh Reddy told reporters here today (Sept 4, 2005).

The commissioner however, refused to comment on the nature of alleged threat from the underworld mafia to the former cricketer by saying, "The nature of the issue is beyond media scope as it is being investigated."

Last week, four personal security officers had been drafted by the police to guard Azhar in a batch of two officers per shift following threatening calls he allegedly received.
