BSP to form no coalition in Bihar Assembly polls
Monday, September 5 2005 16:00 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will not have any understanding with any party in the forthcoming Assembly Elections in Bihar, party supremo Mayawati said in Lucknow today (Sept 5, 2005).

"We will not enter into any kind of understanding with any party in Bihar and will go it alone," she told reporters here.

She claimed the support base of her party was on the rise in Bihar and a rally held recently in Patna was a 'grand success'.

BSP would attempt to field its candidates in all seats in the state, she said replying to a query.

Meanwhile, terming the two-year rule of the Samajwadi Party (SP)-led coalition government in Uttar Pradesh as a 'total failure,' Mayawati demanded that Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav resign owning moral responsibility for the state of affairs in the state.

"The state has been pushed 20 years behind by the SP government and Yadav should resign on moral grounds and quit politics," she said.

She alleged that the law and order situation in the state had turned for the worse and the business community was shying away from the state.

Mayawati said that her party would launch the third phase of its statewide agitation to expose the 'misdeeds' of the SP government from September 15.
