Sarabjit Singh is an Indian national: Government

New Delhi: India has conveyed to Pakistan that Sarabjit Singh, sentenced to death in Pakistan for his alleged involvement in Lahore bomb blasts in 1990, is an Indian national.

Punjab Government has confirmed that Sarabjit is an Indian national and this has been conveyed to Pakistan, External Affairs Ministry spokesman told reporters here today (Sept 5, 2005).

Two Indian High Commission officials had met Sarabjit in Kota Lakhpat jail in Lahore last week and had gathered his personal details.
