Seer case: Framing of charges adjourned to Sept 12

Chengalpattul: A local court today (Sept 5, 2005) adjourned framing of charges in the Sankararaman murder case, in which the Kanchi Seer Jayendra Saraswathi and his junior Vijayendra Saraswathi are the main accused, to September 12.

When the matter came up before the court, the Principal Sessions Judge, G M Akbar Ali, adjourned the case to verify the Supreme Court order, which today directed the court not to proceed with framing of charges till October 4.

On August 19, the Judge had fixed today for framing charges in the case.

The case relates to the September 3 last murder of Sankararaman, a temple official.
