Godhra panel rejects Rashtrapati Bhavan's request

Ahmedabad: The Godhra inquiry commission today (Sept 6, 2005) rejected the request by the Rashtrapati Bhavan sought privilege not to produce the letter written by former President K R Narayanan, to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in connection with Godhra riots.

The Nanavati-Shah commission asked the Rashtrapati Bhavan to send the letter to the commission.

The President's office had earlier refused to send the letter to the Commission on the ground of privilege.
